FAQ - Summit Osteo and Performance

Find clear answers to common questions about injury recovery, rehabilitation, and how we help you move and feel your best.

Do I need a referral to see an osteopath in Ringwood?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with Summit Osteo and Performance for osteopathy, sports rehab, or strength and conditioning. If you’re coming under WorkCover, TAC, or DVA, you may need paperwork from your GP.

What conditions can an osteopath help with?

Osteopaths commonly treat back and neck pain, headaches, shoulder injuries, knee pain, sports injuries, and post-surgical recovery. We combine hands-on care with exercise advice to support long-term results.

How long is an initial osteopathy appointment?

Your first consultation is 45 minutes. This allows time for a detailed assessment, treatment, and an individualised plan. Follow-up sessions are usually 30 minutes.

Can osteopathy help athletes and swimmers?

Yes. At Summit Osteo and Performance we support all athletes, especially swimmers and field sport players. We integrate injury management with performance programming to keep you training and competing at your best.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring comfortable clothing, any relevant scans or medical reports, and your private health card if you plan to claim a rebate. For exercise or rehab sessions, wear gym clothes and runners.

Do you offer private health or Medicare rebates?

Yes, osteopathy is covered by most private health insurers if you have extras. We can also process rebates on the spot with HICAPS. Chronic Disease Management (EPC) plans from your GP are accepted for Medicare rebates.

Do you offer online or telehealth appointments?

Yes. Telehealth is ideal if you can’t attend in person. We provide injury advice, exercise programming, and progress check-ins online.
